When I first spoke with Mike Camoin, he was driving up from Albany into the Adirondacks, scouting locations for The Place Beyond the Pines, a film shooting primarily in Schenectady, NY, starring Ryan Gosling. His cell phone was muffled for a second as Mike placed an order at a drive-through. “This is my second trip up to the Adirondacks on this job,” Mike explained to me, jostling the phone as he grabbed his road-food.
The film, which also stars Bradley Cooper (The Hangover) has been shooting in Schenectady since late August. The scene Camoin is scouting for is going to be one of the most important in the film – the ending. And, it’s supposed to take place in Colorado.
